Are you into making your own cleaners? Have you ever followed a DIY recipe on the internet? Well, I do – and I must say I became a huge fan of those recipes! So much that I decided to completely ditch the commercial cleaners and use natural ingredients instead!
It doesn’t matter if you are just starting or you have been doing it for years – you can probably still use a little bit of an inspiration which is why I want to share with you how I make my own all-purpose cleaner so that you can try out my recipe as well! It’s super easy to make, doesn’t require fancy ingredients, and is inexpensive!
Here is what you need!
The main ingredient in this all-purpose cleaner is white vinegar. Not only does it clean but it will disinfect all the surfaces you clean which is why I like it so much!
Start with peeling a grapefruit (find a large one). Then place those peels in a mason jar and add vinegar. Place the lid and let it sit for a week (I know you probably expected me to say overnight but it won’t be enough which is why you should leave it a whole week).
Why I do this? The vinegar will change colours and will start to smell like a grapefruit. I don’t like the smell of vinegar and I want my home to have a nice odour when I use this cleaner!
Once the week has passed you should pour the mixture in a spray bottle and fill the rest of the bottle with water. I also add 10 drops of essential oil. I use tea tree essential oil but you can use whatever you like!
You are done!
That was all you need to make your own all-purpose cleaner which is also antibacterial!
Now, whenever you use it I recommend you shake the bottle well because the essential oil doesn’t mix with the vinegar.
