If you have ever used acrylic paint then you know it dries extremely fast which is terrible news if you ever spilled some on your favourite carpet.

I have done it quite a few times and I know how hard it is to clean it while it’s still wet – after all, it dries before you even had the chance to gather all of your cleaners!

But the good news is that acrylic paint is water-based rather than oil-based which means that even if it dries, you will still be able to remove it with a few household ingredients! So don’t panic – I will show you how to remove the stains!

How To Remove Acrylic Paint From A Carpet?

You need to prepare a butter knife, a vacuum cleaner, a bowl, warm water, liquid dish soap, a few paper towels, a cloth, and a brush (you can use an old toothbrush)!

Start off with scraping up as much of the dried paint as possible with the butter knife.

Then turn on your vacuum cleaner and get rid of the paint you scraped off.

Continue with pouring two cups of warm water in the bowl followed by a few drops of the liquid dish soap. Mix well, dampen the cloth in the soapy water and start treating the stained area.

Then I highly recommend you move on to using the toothbrush I told you to prepare. Dampen it in soapy water then continue scrubbing. Do this until the paint is removed completely.

And then just dampen a cloth in water and clean the area. You need to remove the soapy water because otherwise, it will attract a lot of dirt and impurities creating a dirty patch!
